On Homepages
When you get your new website online, your homepage will be the first thing your visitors see. The impression made in those first few seconds is absolutely crucial. Whether or not your page immediately communicates with and appeals to your targeted visitors makes a HUGE difference in your ultimate success.
When we take on a project and begin designing and building a homepage for a client, we do everything we can to cultivated an interactive, collaborative process where we truly make magic. Ideally, the act of creation should have a real give and take, becoming a true partnership.
As we go along, here are a few things we shoot for with every homepage we build:
A snappy impression.
Using graphics and text, we work to create sites that pop. The way we ultimately accomplish this varies based on the client’s industry, personal style and preferences. But whatever we do, we want homepages that grab the visitor and keep them interested.
A call to INTERaction
Like any great piece of marketing materials, a great website should lead to action. The beauty of the web is that this action is much more personalized, more of a give-and-take than just whipping out the credit card and buying. We want the user to feel compelled to not just buy, but participate in what you’re doing, communicate with you and become a part of your world. Through ecommerce, web 2.0, etc we can make this happen.
A reason for exisitence
Why are you here? What are you doing? It’s great to let visitors know what you do, why you do it, how you do it and how successful you are.
Nuts and Bolts
This is obvious, but people do miss it. You need to let visitors know how to connect with you. That means having complete contact info readily available.
